BUNGLING council debt collectors sent the bailiffs round to a man who had PAID his poll tax!
And Albert Laughland, 52, who had heart trouble, was so shocked he needed to take tablets to calm down.
It was revealed that Mr Laughland, of Malvern Close, Accrington, had not only paid up almost a year earlier but claimed he had overpaid Hyndburn Council by £20.
