IT comes as no surprise that Geoffrey Thompson is putting up for sale his major theme park rides. Lancaster City Council has done s** all over the years to support his numerous entertainment ventures.
If Frontierland pull out, it will be big disaster time for the family side of the resort with nothing for young families with children to do here.
Morecambe needs investors like Geoffrey Thompson, Blackpool and Southport welcome him with open arms. You only have to look at his recently opened 'Trauma-Tizer' roller coaster and £2million entertainment centre in Southport to see the business he can bring in.
Any decision to pull out could also affect interest by big investors to take on such places as the Midland Hotel and the Winter Gardens - all of fundamental importance to Morecambe's future, and if Frontierland vanishes it may never again be replaced and leave just a ghastly hole in Morecambe's shop window and an already and still struggling West End.
We must unite behind Geoffrey Thompson - make him feel wanted in Morecambe - not taken for granted!
