A 22-year-old pedestrian pulled out alive from beneath a 32-tonne wagon died in hospital today.
Khalil Khan, of Moorgate Street, Blackburn, sustained serious leg and internal injuries when the vehicle carrying bales of paper toppled on to the pavement at the junction of the A666 Bolton Road and M65 link road in Darwen at 7am yesterday.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and underwent surgery but died at 7.35am.
The driver of the wagon, which belongs to Kenley Distribution and Warehousing, Darwen, was unhurt but taken to hospital with shock.
Police are appealing for witnessed to the incident and anyone with any information should contact them on 01254 353764.
