YOUNG drivers won police praise for staying dry over Christmas - but middle-aged motorists were still hitting the booze and driving.
Two East Lancashire police traffic chiefs said younger motorists had grown up with the "Don't drink and drive" message, while older drivers were still prepared to risk driving over the limit.
