DOESN'T Blackburn pub and club owner Margo Grimshaw love publicity?

How many times has her photograph appeared in your newspaper concerning her wooden carving of Christ and the different TV programmes she has appeared in? And how many times have we had repeats of how many pubs she owns?

She appeared again quite recently, moaning about the decline of the pubs. She's right there, particularly in the case of the former Flemings. It was my regular weekend pub. I could look forward to meeting friends and enjoying a game of pool.

What now? No pool table, drinks served in plastic glasses - not my scene at all.

In fact, many of my friends have the same opinion and don't care very much for the changes.

By the way, what happened to the Stokers and Queens she spent such a lot of money on - now closed.?

When the new millennium approached, some pubs and clubs looked to charge entrance fees. I for one was not held to ransom and I'm sure others shared the same view.

I am glad the places charging a fee for entrance had a disappointing time. I think we get ripped off enough when price increases come along.
