A MINICAB driver was subjected to a terrifying ordeal at the hands of two men who robbed him at knifepoint.

The driver picked up two men in their 20s from Blackburn centre at 1.45am today and drove them to Roe Greave Road, Oswaldtwistle.

When the car stopped, the back seat passenger held a knife to the drivers throat and the two robbers stole the driver's takings of around £60 along with his car keys.

The men ran off from the Nissan Bluebird and the driver used his radio to contact his base and raise the alarm. Police attended but could not find the robbers.

Both men were white and spoke with local accents. The knifeman was scruffy-looking, thin and aged about 23. He wore a light blue jacket.

His accomplice was aged about 26, had short blond hair and seemed to have a cold.. He had a round face and wore a brown casual jacket.
