FOUR officers paid a visit to a Blackburn school to spread the message of positive policing.
More than 60 pupils at Beardwood High School were treated to the talk by the officers from Lancashire and Greater Manchester Police.
Among them was Sergeant Ilyas Mohmed and WPC Reehaina Saddique, from Lancashire Police, who spent the morning talking to the Year 10 youngsters.
Head of religious education Nisima Hasan, said: "This was a positive policing exercise to explore the issues of race and the police force as part of the pupils' GCSE RE course.
"In the wake of the Stephen Lawrence inquiry, the police talked about their role in society and some aspects of their job. The message from the police is that they will welcome people from all communities into the force."
