NINE parents went back to school in Burnley to gain a better understanding of their children's studies.
As part of a county-wide Parents as Educators scheme, the adults spent at least one day a week, during an eight-week course, working with children and teachers at St James' Lanehead Primary School.
The group were co-ordinated by deputy head Heather Hodson and produced a portfolio of their work.
They learned about the National Curriculum and showed an interest in what their children were doing, and many of the parents have decided to continue working at the school as general teaching assistants.
They will receive their certificates in June at a special ceremony to be arranged by Lancashire County Council.
