A LEADING local bakery has pledged to support the Help a Local Child Appeal by signing a sponsorship deal with Preston's Rock FM and Magic 999.

The two-year deal means Greggs North West will support a number of the station's fund-raising initiatives, including the Pin Badge Appeal and It's a Knockout Competition in July.

Already the firm has donated £4,000 to the appeal in the month since it started and is expected to raise much more through the Pin Badge collection boxes displayed in Greggs' shops in Preston.

Greggs North West managing director Ian Pagg said: "We are committed to helping the community through sponsoring charity initiatives."

Magic 999 charity manager John Storey added: "We are delighted that Greggs is supporting our Help a Local Child Appeal. Although we can create an awareness of the charity on radio, it becomes real when people buy our pin badges in shops.
