STAFF at The World of Glass will be playing host to a royal visitor on Friday, July 7, and they would like the people of St Helens to join in their celebrations on the big day.
Although the visitor centre will be closed during the Prince's visit The World of Glass has arranged for street entertainers (including flame throwers and jugglers) to entertain the crowds that will line Chalon Way East (behind St Mary's Market).
The centre will also be dishing out flags to wave on its special day. Prince Philip, who is conducting the official opening ceremony of town's newest attraction will be spending about an hour at the centre and he is due to arrive at 3.20pm. During his visit he will be unveiling an official commemorative work of art, which is currently being designed by the glass artists at the centre.
Because The World of Glass will be closed during the afternoon it has been decided to open the visitor facility for the very first time in the evening.
The doors will be open between 4.30pm and 9pm and admission will be £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children.
