I THINK the concept of a women-only taxi firm (Citizen, June 8) is an excellent one which can only benefit Preston generally, and the private hire/Hackney cab industry in particular.
Sandra Chester and Lorraine Ahmed are to be congratulated for their 'forward thinking' on this issue -- it is a badly needed service in and around Preston.
I for one will be booking a cab with them for this coming week if at all possible.
As for the council planning department's decision, any refusal will highlight just how 'Neanderthal' Preston Borough Council really is.
