LEIGH winger Alan Hadcroft is likely to miss the rest of the season.

He is in plaster after further medical checks revealed he fractured his left leg at Oldham more than a week ago.

The injury has shown up on a second x-ray after a first examination revealed only a badly brusied shin.

Hadcroft was in the 17 to face Hunslet but pulled up in the pre-match warm-up and was eventually replaced on the bench by Paul Norman.

Coach Paul Terzis said: "He will be in plaster for a few weeks, and, at this stage, it looks unlikely he will be back in time for the play-offs.

"Alan was sent for an x-ray after the Oldham game, but nothing showed up. He showed considerable improvement during the week and was able to train.

"It was only when he went out for the pre-match session and began sprinting that he heard a crack. He was sent to hospital immediately where a second x-ray showed a hairline fracture of the fibula."
