THE Centurions newest fan can't wait for her next visit to Hilton Park.

Christine Segger, the grand-daughter of ex-Leigh great Tom Johnson and his brother Sam, is hooked on Leigh.

She was the guest of the club at a recent game when he was given various mementoes by the Centurions and Leigh Past Players' association.

Christine, who now lives in Chester, says she was swept off her feet by the kindness shown to her and her family.

"The people at Leigh were brilliant. It was really a magic moment to see the team that my grandfather and his brother played for. Nothing was too much trouble," she says.

"I liked it so much that we were back for the Hunslet game last Sunday and you can rest assured we'll be back on a regular basis."

Originally from Runcorn, the Johnson brothers were stars at the turn of the last century.

Tom, a centre, played 238 games and scored 56 tries between 1905 and 1915. Sam joined Leigh in 1900 and in two spells with the club scored 91 tries in 392 matches.

Christine would like to make contact with any of her surviving relatives in the Leigh area. She can be contacted on 01244-313820.
