THE Juniors' second teach-in match took place last Tuesday at the Burrs Lodge and was won by Darren Asfar with 5lb 4oz.

In second place Richard Bailey weighed in with 4lb 7oz and in third Del Hathaway had 2lb 12oz. Most of the fish caught were break and skimmers with the odd roach and perch for good measure.

Any juniors wishing to join in only have to turn up at Burr's Lodge on Tuesday evening about 5.30pm and they will be made more than welcome.

Parents are also invited to attend if they wish to find out about our set-up and what the teach-in aims are.

Juniors attending must bring some fishing tackle -- no matter how basic -- and every effort will be made to steer them in the right direction.

Membership of our junior section is £8 and is open to juniors aged 11 and over.

Last Saturday the juniors fished the first of their matches, which was held at the Lido, for the Junior Cup. Phil Gill took top spot with 2lb 14oz and there was a tie for second place between Darren Asfar and Richard Bailey, who both weighed in with 2lb 3oz.

Sunday's senior match on Clarendon Street for the G. Graham Trophy was won by Bill Cuddy with 5lb 1oz. In second place Steve Whittle had 3lb 12oz and in third place Douggie Brown weighed in 3lb 3oz.

On Sunday the match is at the Burr's for the Association Trophy. Any member wishing to fish is advised to contact the match secretary to book on.

On the pleasure scene, all our waters are fishing well with plenty of tench from Crown Pools and Rigg's, skimmers and bream from the Lido, Burr's, and Simon's with the odd quality roach among the smaller fish from the rest of our waters.

Mave would like to thank everyone for their concern and kind wishes and is looking forward to getting out fishing again.
