ONE of East Lancashire's newest firms is looking for redundancies.
Bibby Distribution is looking for 15 voluntary redundancies from its 74-strong workforce on the Walker Park in Blackburn.
The site was opened last year to process and distribute acryclic products such as Perspex made at Ineos Acrylics, formerly ICI, in Darwen.
Bibby Distribution's managing director Theo de Pencier, said that the job losses were part of a major investment programme at the site to make it more efficient.
"We are investing a further £300,000 in new technology at the site and making further changes to the structure of the team, which are designed to increase efficiency and output."
He said that the redundancies affected the whole operation, including management and that negotiations were under way with union officials .
"We are talking to the union with the aim that none of these redundancies will be enforced and our target is well on the way to being achieved."
