A WOMAN blasted through the head by her evil husband was 16 weeks pregnant.

The shock revelation comes as police released details of Christopher Pomeroy's chilling catalogue of violence and death threats made against the mother of his three children.

Mrs Joanne Pomeroy, 24, and her mum Mrs Diane Pritchard both suffered fatal gun shot wounds to the head during Monday's (July 10) cold-blooded murders in Prestwich.

Killer Pomeroy was later found hours after the slaughter hanging from a tree in woodland around the Abraham Moss College in Crumpsall.

Press investigations have since revealed how 24-year-old Pomeroy had five months earlier served only part of a 27 month prison jail sentence for attacking his wife with a sawn-off shotgun. Joanne was left with a broken arm after the vicious beating. Police have confirmed Joanne lived in fear of Pomeroy who a week before the murders had phone Joanne at her mum's home in Northurst Street and threatened to kill her.

Pomeroy, who had previous convictions for violence and firearms offences, arrived at the Northurst Drive house at 4pm on Monday and turned a handgun on 41-year-old Mrs Pritchard as she stood outside the property. Joanne was found with a similar single gunshot wound to the head in the house. Both women were taken to North Manchester General Hospital where they died several hours apart

The killer then held a woman and her daughter at gunpoint in nearby Windsor Road before stealing their Vauxhall Astra and driving to Crumpsall to kill himself.

It is believed Joanne, whose three children were living with Pomeroy's mum in Cheetham Hill, activated a panic alarm button before she was shot. Police officers arrived within minutes but it was too late.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers had installed the panic alarm in light of Pomeroy's death threats.
