WHAT a short memory County Councillor George Slynn has.
I found it hard to believe that the person attempting to castigate Ray Pilkington for not signing up to yet another bit of control had apparently forgotten that it was no less a person than George Slynn himself, in his former role as leader of Hyndburn Council, who sold off Hyndburn Transport, to be followed by the sale of the former bus depot.
He has overlooked the fact that Ray's buses boldly went where nobody else would go, providing a very valuable service, and one of his drivers has recently won an award as Britain's Best Bus Driver -- so much for the sarcasm in County Councillor Slynn's letter.
