A TOUGH away match at Cardiff City faces Blackpool on Saturday (August 19) and Seasiders fans will be hoping for a strong performance to guarantee a further three points.

Cardiff, who were relegated along with Blackpool from Division Two last season have been installed as second favourites to win promotion and will present a stiff challenge at Ninian Park.

There was little between the teams last season with both matches between the clubs ending all square.

Former Wimbledon owner Sam Hamman is in the process of buying the Welsh club and former Dons boss Bobby Gould has been installed as manager of the Ninian Park side with ex-Blackpool manager Billy Ayre his assitant.

With loan signings Steve Hawes and Paul Simpson settling in well Pool manager Steve McMahon is note expected to make changes to the team which beat Hull.

But McMahon is still on the lookout for players to strengthen the Tangerines squad with former Blackburn Rovers, Northampton and Coventry utility player Tony Dobson being taken on for a trial at Bloomfield Road.

Pool have also been linked, ironically, to the former Preston North End forward Kurt Nogan who is on the transfer list at Carfiff City but it is believed the asking price is too high.

Good news for Pool is that Tommy Jaszczun will be available for selection after recovering from injury.
