GLOBE-TROTTING youngsters at a Pendle primary school "travelled" the world without leaving their classroom.
Pupils at Brierfield's Walter Street Primary School have spent this week learning more about "global citizenship" through a variety of special events.
The activities ranged from making American pancakes and Asian snacks to learning karate, Asian dance and Asian team game Kabbadi, to creating a French-style pavement cafe and learning the New Zealand "war dance", the Haka.
The week started with a balloon race and there were visits from Asian artists, a postal worker, a Japanese speaker and the Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Ian Gilhespy.
Youngsters have forged relationships with schools in countries such as the United States, Spain, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sweden through letters and e-mail.
