A SECRET cannabis farm worth up to £40,000 has been discovered in the loft of a house in Astley.
Detectives swooped on the property on Dunmail Close and found dozens of the plants growing in the attic, which had been specially adapted with sophisticated equipment.
Police searched the house, off Higher Green Lane, at 7pm on Tuesday after earlier discovering a cannabis factory worth up to £100,000 in Eccles.
Detectives from Salford West pro-active drugs and crime unit arrested seven people in connection with both illegal set-ups. They were released on police bail on Wednesday while further inquiries take place.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police, said: "The street value of the cannabis found has been estimated to be between £30,000-£40,000.
"The loft had been specially adapted for the growing of cannabis and it was very well equipped. The plants will now be analysed by experts while inquiries continue."
The secret farm in Eccles was discovered on business premises on the Lyntown Industrial Estate after detectives armed with a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act searched the building.
