FOR sheer cynical political opportunism the Independent Group leader's remarks (Citizen: August 31) take some beating.
The MBI party now admit that Paddy Kavanagh and his wife worked hard for the area. If they believe this why was Paddy Kavanagh one of the few Lancaster councillors opposed by the MBI party at the last election?
Of course Paddy and Sheila Kavanagh's hard work was party political in exactly the same way as Tricia Heath's is.
If Sheila Kavanagh is elected and fails to back the MBI party policy of More for Morecambe Less for Lancaster will she still have MBI party support?
