MS MUGLISTON, in The Citizen 24/08/00, suggests sending council representatives to a theme park in the United States to see how to keep Blackpool clean and decent. She says that the theme parks in the states are "just as busy as Blackpool but you see no one drunk, not one yob and absolutely no litter!"
Don't encourage councillors to waste our money on expensive jaunts! In any case there is no need to go the States to see a well run theme park. They only need a short tram ride along the promenade where the Pleasure Beach will show the example they need. Litter is cleared up, the super-loos are clean and graffiti free, souvenirs are tasteful and any drunks and yobs are quietly sorted out.
Come on Blackpool - get cleaned up and give out a more positive image!
