REGARDING 'angry' Catherine Kenny and the other 400 people who signed a petition to protest about the building of more houses on the green fields adjacent to their homes in Darwen (LET, August 30).
Hands up all those who objected to their own homes being built on green fields. You couldn't care less about the 'green belt' or wildlife or you wouldn't be living where you do.
As long as you have a nice view, nobody else matters.
When I was a child, there were no housing estates around Priory Drive and Pole Lane -- it was all green fields.
If people had taken the trouble to visit their local library a couple of years ago, they would have seen long-term plans which showed all land earmarked for development within the borough and, consequently, wouldn't be so surprised about the 'new' proposals.
