A TOWN centre exploded into a riot of family fun when a Asian festival hit the streets.
Thousands of people made the most of Hyndburn Mela 2000 in Accrington.
Attractions included a fun fair, a variety of stalls, including Asian music, children's clothing and a tandoori barbecue and music.
Street entertainers 'What a Palava', 'Mr and Mrs Sideways' and unicyclist Tim Dixon proved to be crowd pullers.
Visitors to the town took part in a variety of arts and crafts including printing, glass painting, nails and body painting.
There was a women's fashion show in the afternoon.
In the evening entertainment in the town hall included a puppet show, comedy, dancing and music from top Asian bhangra band Sahara.
The mela cricket finals took place at Bullough Park, Accrington from followed by a weight lifting contest and kabbadi.
