A DRAMATIC play about the triumph of God's love over the evil and terror on the streets of New York's ghettos comes to Clitheroe next month.

The Cross And The Switchblade by David Wilkerson is the story of country preacher Wilkerson's lonely crusade to the most dangerous streets in the world.

Saltmine Theatre Company, which is touring the country from Monday, visited New York to meet Wilkerson and toured the gangland areas of New York as part of their research.

The true story of how Wilkerson started his campaign to help communities caught in the iron grip of crime, prostitution and drugs will be told at The Grand Cinema on Friday, June 15.

Tickets are available from 01200 444404 or can be collected from the Grand Cinema in Clitheroe.
