MOTORISTS in Pendle have been warned to take extra care on the roads following the rain after a dry spell.
Colne-based traffic unit sergeant Russ Gregory said: "When it is dry, oil, petrol and diesel soaks into the road surface.
"Then when there is rains it rises back up to the surface.
"Motorists should be aware of this particularly at corners, junctions and roundabouts."
