SOLICITOR Keith Bagot swapped his legal brain for his Soccer Brain when he took part in a TV show of the same name.

The 42-year-old Blackburn Rovers fan will be seen pitting his wits against a Manchester United fan from Wigan and a Blackpool fan from Fleetwood as he bids to become the region's soccer mastermind on Granada TV 's Soccer Brain.

Keith, a partner in Bagot Heyes, of Clitheroe, decided to have a go for the 2001 title after watching last year's show.

"Like thousands of others, I sat at home watching the telly and thought 'I can do that,' said Keith, who did not hesitate when a phone number was broadcast inviting viewers to have a go.

Keith is sworn to secrecy about the outcome of the show, which has already been recorded, but says answering questions under the spotlight is a tough business.

"To get on the show I had to go to Manchester and sit an exam," said Keith. "Those questions were much harder than the ones on the show but the pressure comes when you are against the clock and the cameras are running.

Keith, 42, of Shropshire Road, Wilpshire, is a lifelong Rovers supporter and he and his sons Anthony, 11, David, nine, and Michael five, have season tickets in the family stand.

The show is expected to be screened next Tuesday night.
