CAROLINE Egan got straight to the point when she decided to run a fund-raising event for Rossendale Hospice: she organised a twelve hour darts marathon.
Caroline, of Hammond Avenue, Stacksteads, dedicated the darts event and fun day at Rose Mount Working Men's Club, Stacksteads, to the memory of her mum, Marie Chew, who died from cancer.
She said: "My mum used to play darts with my family and I so when she died of cancer five years ago we raised £5,000 for the hospice by doing something that she herself enjoyed.
"It was a great success so I thought I would do it again this time including more activities and making it into a family fun day."
Other events included a raffle, tombola, lots of competitions and face painting.
Sixteen darters took part and hope to have raised more than £1,000. Pictured left to right are Terry Egan, Sharon Longworth, Phil Higham and Barbara Roscoe. Among visitors was Labour Parliamentary candidate Janet Anderson.
