VOLUNTEERS braved the summer showers in a bid to raise money for charity.
Staff at the Darwen branch of Help the Aged, in School Street, celebrated their sixth birthday with a fundraising stall at the town's Petticoat Lane market.
The event was run in conjucntion with a host of bank holiday attractions, including the Darwen Music Live Festival.
