SUMMER activities for parents with young children will start on Friday with a fun day at Bacup Leisure Hall.
From noon to 2pm Diddy Mike Kerr will entertain and there will be a bouncy castle.
Children aged under four will be able to choose from four play areas and there will also be a cafe area for parents to have a break while their children play.
Play days will be arranged on a weekly basis through the summer at the leisure hall and activities will be organised on alternate weeks by the library service.
The event marks the launch of Government-funded Sure Start's £1.7million scheme to help parents and their children from the Bacup and Stacksteads area.
The scheme will lead to a nursery being established in Bacup.
Parents are invited to find out more about Sure Start at a planning meeting in KG's In Bacup on June 21 at noon, or they can telephone Janet Cockshoot at Tup Bridge Family Centre on 01706 223805.
