J. BROOKS of Billinge raises an interesting point when he quotes Councillor John Beirne's demand for St Helens Council to invest more money into Parr High School and fund refurbishment of the school's buildings.
Only weeks before Councillor Beirne's comments, the Liberal Democrat group on St Helens Council proposed an alternative budget that would have entailed no school building work this year, the spending of the council's balances and millions of pounds worth of spending cuts in next year's budget.
Will this fact be appearing in any Liberal Democrat literature calling for Parr High to be kept open?
May I wish the pupils and parents of Parr the best of luck.
