BARROWFORD is set to get its first purpose-built restaurant -- an 80-seat Italian eating house on the new Metro Filling Station development in the village centre.
The council's Barrowford committee is tonight being recommended to approve an application to use two new shop units on the under-construction site for a restaurant, despite one objection from a local resident.
The objector said development would cause noise, traffic and cooking smell problems and residents would lose their privacy.
But planning officers say restrictions limiting opening hours to 11pm and other conditions would overcome any problems.
