GARETH Taylor today admitted he's ready to snub the chance to become part of Kevin Keegan's Maine Road revolution in favour of a move to Turf Moor.

Clarets chief Stan Ternent has been negotiating with the player's agent about a move to Burnley once his contract runs out at Manchester City.

And, despite the high-profile arrival of Keegan, Taylor remains totally focused on a switch to Turf Moor -- and the sooner, the better.

"As far as I'm aware, the manager has had a chat with my agent and my agent is now due to talk with the chairman," said Taylor.

"So I'm just waiting to see what comes of that now.

"But I definitely want to join Burnley and it's just case of agreeing a few details.

"I went away with the lads on the end of a season trip to Portugal and they're a great set of lads.

"So I'm happy here and I'd like to make my stay permanent.

"A lot of people have asked me whether Kevin Keegan's arrival has changed anything.

"But, at the end of the day, Stan Ternent has been brilliant with me by giving me my chance and I'd like the chance to repay him.

"Kevin Keegan certainly hasn't spoken to me so I don't know what he's thinking.

"Maybe if he'd come in a couple of months ago things might have been different.

"But my contract is due to run out anytime and my instincts are telling me to sign for Burnley."

Taylor is hopeful an agreement can be reached in the next seven days because he wants to settle his future before he jets off for a well-earned summer break.

"I'd like to get things sorted out as soon as possible," said Taylor.

"I'm going away on holiday in early June and I'd like to get things sorted before then, if possible, then I can relax because what I'm doing.

"That would be a major weight off my mind to have things all sorted out by then."
