EARLESTOWN'S WLCL campaign rolled on with a win over Eccleston. The visitors were asked to bat and were soon in trouble, but a solid performance by P. Murphy (26) saw the total reach 82.
P. Jay (4-27) and youngster G. Jones (3-26) were the best home bowlers.
In reply G. Davison (27) and J. Allan (15) both had good knocks and the target was reached with overs to spare.
M. Gornall (3-36) and A. Elliot (1-14) were the pick of the visitors' bowling.
The Sunday side lost to Sutton in a game consisting of more juniors than both sides would have liked to play.
Meanwhile, the juniors were involved in a tight game against St Helens Recs. Batting first they reached 84. .L Lomas (19) and J. Goode (24) top scoring.
But Recs were always on the run rate and passed the target with two balls left.
