A CLERGY man today urged people to put their points of view across in what he hoped would be a 'heated' debate with the town's political figures.
The Rev Terry Young, who ministers three churches in Darwen, has invited as many people as possible to put the three would-be MPs for Rossendale and Darwen in the public hot seat.
Organised by Churches Together in Darwen, the joint question and answer session will see tourism minister Janet Anderson, Tory candidate George Lee and Liberal Democrat hopeful Brian Dunning argue their case before the June 7 election.
Mr Young, who will be chairing the debate, said: "We want everyone to come and put their views across at this session where they will be able to ask as many questions as they want.
"I hope it will get reasonably heated but kept in good order. But if it does get a little bit heated you know people will be speaking passionately about what they believe."
The event will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday at the Central United Reformed Church, in Duckworth Street, Darwen.
