TREAT dad to a super day out this Father's Day and help raise funds for more than 20 local charities at a mammoth Fylde Charity Fun Day to be held at Fylde Rugby Club.

Go along and meet the stars at the club on Blackpool Road, Ansdell, on June 17 and enjoy a great family outing. With lots of attractions, entertainment and refreshments on offer, there is sure to be something to suit all ages and tastes.

Activities include a children's sports event for youngsters aged between seven and 12, an army assault course and tug-'o-war.

The North West air ambulance helicopter will also be on view along with steam traction engines, motorcyles, vintage cars, commercial vehicles and Nikki Lauder's Formula One racing car!

There will be various stalls and side shows, including an antiques road show, fashion show and bar, barbeque and refreshment stands. Visitors will also be able to try their luck at winning a brand new Mercedes -- now that would be a great Father's Day present!

Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind will have six stalls at the event, including a unique sight awareness one, where children of all ages will be blindfolded while they carry out various tasks.

Among the blind society's stands will be a second-hand recorded music stall. If you have any surplus or unplayed musical material which could be of use to someone else then please call Gerald Wildish on 792600 or 735107 and he will arrange for collection.

Admission to the charity fun day is £4 for adults and £2 for children and senior citizens. The fun commences at noon and events will run throughout the day until 5pm. To book a three-course Father's Day lunch call Sue on 734733.

There will be a separate evening concert entitled Brass Meets Brass in the grounds at 7.30pm on the same day. Admission to this concert will be £5 each.
