RE Mr M Howarth's article on Cleveleys post office. I would like to query your statement about easier access for the elderly and disabled. There is a very limited parking on Victoria Road -- more was available on Runnymede Avenue and Bispham Road.
Has anyone thought about Royal Mail vans, Parcel Force and REM vans bringing money, parking to collect mail and making deliveries?
Are they going to double park in front of a bus stop, or are they going to put their lives at risk by suggesting they collect from a back entry?
I have heard a rumour that if mail vans cannot park, then no mail will be collected. Will this sub postmaster then be shut down for alleged breach of contract, for not getting mail removed from her office? Or maybe she will have to work until 6pm before a parking place is available.
Mrs E M Jackson,
Runnymede Avenue,Thornton Cleveleys.
