I WONDER if any of your readers could help me? I have received a request from a little church in Zambia for second hand bibles, if possible, at least 40 copies. Being a third world country, the people are, of course, extremely poor. I will quote you the words of Joseph Chilafi, the gentleman who made the request.

"The poverty is rife here in Africa. I know you do see it on television but is very difficult to understand unless you experience it personally. It is very difficult to find medicines in hospitals, books in schools, there is a lot of hunger everywhere. It is a very hopeless situation. If one can't afford a meal, how can he buy a Bible costing K28,000 in our currency? That is why I ask for the Word of God, instead of money or anything else. Please, listen to my pleas."

Any translation will be acceptable except the New World translation by the Watchtower organisation. Bibles may be left at "Records and Relics", 96 Caunce Street, Blackpool, between 10.30am and 5pm. Thank you so much.
