THANK you for nothing, Blackpool Transport! Having just perused your new mini timetable for Service 14, I thought that in your reshuffle of services you would have given us an hourly bus along Headroomgate Road, St Annes.
As I pointed out when you axed the long-running Headroomgate Road service last year, on that section between Highbury Road and the Catholic Church there are three churches, two schools, two nursing homes, parish rooms, YMCA, pensioners' hall and a compact shopping centre. And you say that the former service didn't pay?
I also note that you look after your own passengers well, i.e. the over-frequent No 6, 2, 2a, 2b and the 12a (which previously ran so often that the drivers practically kept one another in sight).
It is a great pity there is no opposition to your company. Sadly the 53/53a bus ceased to operate -- it was a reliable service with cheerful drivers who would stop anywhere where there were no bus stops. (Your Travelcard leaflet is out of date, by the way -- it shows the 53/53a as still running).
Have another think and give us back our old service, not sending everything down Heeley Road.
