RUGBY-mad teenager Ted Rawsthorne spent a great day with the Saints squad when the team went out on an activities day at the Merseyside Fire Service Training Centre at Croxteth.
Ted, whose battle to beat testicular cancer was featured in the Star, joined up with Chris Joynt and company as the squad learned how to tackle fires.
The Rainford High School Pupil told the Star: "It was a great day and I really enjoyed it. We were involved in lots of different activities and I learned how to put a chip pan fire out!
"The players were really interested in how I was doing and it gave me a big boost".
Ted said that he would like to give his thanks to the players and to everyone who arranged the day.
