A BUSINESS support agency is helping to develop a healthy workforce in Bury.

Bolton and Bury Chamber has just launched two new services under its Lifestyle health promotion scheme to offer local employees a workout for body, mind and spirit.

Fit For The Occasion (physical well-being consultancy and personal fitness trainers) and stress management company Positive Results UK Ltd are providing the new discounted services to help Chamber members gain competitive advantage from a healthy workforce.

The Chamber say there is no shortage of evidence proving how unhealthy a nation we are as a consequence of working long hours, increasing use of technology and doing little or no physical activity. And it is no surprise that this has a serious effect on the productivity and profits of individual companies and the economy as a whole.

Forward thinking companies are now recognising that it is no longer a luxury to look after the health and well-being of their staff, but an essential management tool.

Through Chamber Lifestyle, Positive Results is offering fellow members a 20 per cent discount on an intial three-hour stress audit for companies and half price stress assessment for individuals on a one-to-one basis.

Fit For The Occasion supports firms looking to reduce absenteeism, sickness and stress in the workplace by promoting health through physical well-being.

And Fit For The Occasion is offering members a 10 per cent discount on services including health and lifestyle education workshops, cost analysis of sickness and health in the workplace, and individual health and lifestyle consultations and plans together with the development and implementation of company health promotion strategies and personal fitness training.
