ANIMAL lover Carol Parry was 'r-over the moon' after her pampered pooches led the way in a top international dog show.

Mrs Parry, 50, of Cranberry Lane, Darwen, came home from this year's Crufts show with a hatful of awards when her two canines beat off entries from almost 200 other dogs.

The annual event this year attracted more than 21,500 entries with 173 different breeds and had more than 118,000 visitors.

Mrs Parry, who has been breeding dogs for seven years and was helped at the show by daughter Sharon, was delighted when her 20-month-old St Bernard, Chandlimore Heaven Can Wait, beat off competition from 112 other dogs in the working and pastoral section for St Bernards and was awarded the best junior female dog.

And her two-year-old Australian Shepherd called Ozzipool Cayenne at Chrisvale was judged the reserve best dog in class and reserve best in breed in the working and pastoral category for Australian Shepherds.
