A MOTORIST died when a car came off the road and collided with a Blackpool-bound train.
The vehicle left the B560 at Great Plumpton, on Wednesday, August 15, between Weeton and Kirkham and was found on the railway track at 6.40am, close to the M55 overbridge.
Emergency services, including fire crews from Wesham, South Shore and Fulwood, were called to the scene and confirmed the driver was dead.
The only passenger on board the Wigan to Blackpool train was its driver who is being treated for shock at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
