ST ANNES

ST ANNES Pensioners' Association is holding bingo sessions starting at 2.30pm on August 21 and August 28 in the Pensioners' Hall, St Albans Road. A whist drive is held every Friday at 2pm. New members welcome.

A SUMMER fair is being held at Sydney Street Family Centre, Sydney Street, on Saturday, August 18, from 10.30am-12.30pm. There will be many stalls including a cake stall, tombola and also games and a raffle. Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

LYTHAM

THE "Two Tenors", Stephen Burrows and Kevin Matthews, are presenting the music of Mario Lanza at Lytham Methodist Church, Park Street, on Saturday, August 18, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door, and from Lytham Information Centre, or by phoning Dr Lee on 735058.

THORNTON

THE respite home, 52-54 Church Road, Thornton, is holding an open day on Saturday, August 18 from 12-4pm. There will be fun games, tombola and other attractions to raise funds to buy items for the centre. There will be a small admission fee and refreshments will be available.

AN EVENING stroll looking at flowering and non-flowering plants along the Wyre Estuary will start from Wyreside Ecology Centre at 7pm on Tuesday, August 21. The event will last three hours and costs £1.70 for adults, 80p for children.

BLACKPOOL

HOYLE House, Argosy Avenue, is holding a summer fair at 2.30pm on Saturday, August 18. Attractions include a bouncy castle, cake stall, tombola, brick-a-brac, popcorn stall and barbecue. Proceeds will go to residents' funds.

MARTON

BOOTHS Supermarket, Highfield Road, is holding a fun day including children's fancy dress competition, bouncy castle, inflate slide, tombola, raffles and much more on Sunday, August 26, 10am-4pm. A barbecue and refreshments will be available. Proceeds will go towards Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice.

ROSSALL

LEARN about different aspects of life along the coast with a guided walk from 11am-12.30pm on Thursday, August 23. The event costs £1.70 for adults and 80p for children, and starts from the Rossall picnic area.

FLEETWOOD

FARMER Parr's Animal World is hosting a two-day gala spectacular in aid of Autism Initiatives on Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18, from 10am. Syd Little, of Little and Large, will officially open the gala at noon on Friday and will stay throughout the day. David Sharples, the Mayor of Wyre, will also be there. Families can enjoy many attractions including all the animals, museum, pottery making and painting, toss a bale of hay, children's rides, tombola, treasure hunt, bottle stall and balloon race.
