EAST Lancashire swimming pools have helped break a world record, after contributing to a £2.4 million fundraiser.
For the BT Swimathon, 37,710 people throughout Britain dived into 484 pools last March -- making it Europe's largest-ever swimming event.
Blackburn's Daisyfield Pool raised £2,159.74, Padiham Leisure Centre £1,854.25, and Clitheroe's Ribblesdale Pool £5,166.56
Half of the cash will go to Macmillan Cancer Relief, with the rest spread around other worthy causes.
