BRIGG TOWN...2 GT HARWOOD...2

GREAT Harwood came back twice against their bogey team Brigg Town to seal an FA Cup qualifying replay back at the Showground on Wednesday night.

Harwood were knocked out of the Vase last season against North East Counties Division One champions Brigg, who won their league by ten points last season.

But Denis Underwood's NWCL Division One side showed great character after Brigg had taken the lead ten minutes before the break through Roy Raspin.

Underwood had to change things about when Dave Livesey got injured and centre back Neil Baron, who was playing as a striker because of injuries, was pushed back to his usual slot.

John Riley was introduced up front and he got the equaliser within minutes of coming on but Brigg retook the lead with a header from a corner by Bartlett.

The Harwood chief pushed Baron back up front for a desperate push after that and in a goalmouth scramble Town put the ball in their own net -- although all the Harwood players claimed it was their goal!
