REGARDING 'Mess made at arts in the park' (Letters, August 17), Friends of the Earth members walked in Corporation Park, Blackburn, the morning after the event and saw council staff picking up the rubbish and glass. At the time the event finished, the parks department was unable to remove the rubbish.
Doesn't Mr S. Smith realise that More 40,000 people attended this event over the weekend? -- probably more people in one weekend than all the parks in Blackburn see in a year.
I still think that the council and all the staff who helped with this event deserve to be congratulated for their hard work.
