A TEENAGER died after injecting herself with heroin, an inquest was told.
Charlene Dyson, aged 16, was found slumped over the bathroom sink at her home on Castle Street, Tyldesley, in July by her mother, Carole Bannister.
She had vomited and a syringe was discovered by her side.
The inquest was told Charlene had a history of drug abuse despite constant attempts by her family to stop her.
Her mother said Charlene had stopped taking heroin for a while but had laspsed and used it again.
Sgt Mark Bradley, of Greater Manchester Police, said an investigation to find Charlene's supplier was on-going.
Aidan Cotter, coroner, said: "A decade ago, for me to record death by heroin abuse was virtually unheard off.
"I am now dealing with one a week."
He recorded a verdict of death by heroin abuse.
