BOLTON may have returned to the top of the Premiership following last night's 1-1 draw at Ewood but manager Sam Allardyce was disappointed not to have sneaked away with a win.

Wanderers claimed Lucas Neill's late equaliser should never have counted because Matt Jansen was offside when Rovers won the initial corner.

"Our players complained bitterly that it was offside so if that was the case then the ultimate goal resulted from the corner so Mr Winter and his officials have got a lot to answer for," said Allardyce.

"I'll have a look at the video before I make a judgement and my mind up accordingly.

"But if that is the case then the officials will have cost us two points as well as the player who didn't mark Lucas Neill at the end.

"It wasn't the first time the officials failed to give us an offside decision, though, and that was disappointing from our point of view.

"With the game we play, if the opposition decide to run offside then we let them run offside.

"So if the linesman or the referee isn't doing his job properly then we are in serious trouble."

That apart, however, Allardyce was delighted with another valuable away point and in particular the contribution of new-boy Rod Wallace who marked his debut with a goal.

"He's one of those goal-getters who regularly hits the target and when the chances drop he'll score you goals as he did tonight," said the Wanderers boss.

"He found the space in a very tight area, he lost his marker completely and put in a very, very good header.

"So his track record is there for all to see and that's why we brought him to the club.

"But, as always, there was also some very, very good defending again and that's the main stay of our side.

"We frustrated Blackburn and their fans many, many times, we managed to pinch a goal and we could have pinched the three points.

"But, in the end, we were happy with a point."
