RIBBLE Valley residents will be able to share their views on the future of the countryside at a public consultation next week,

Researchers will be at Ribble Valley Borough Council chambers next Thursday from noon to 9pm to discuss issues.

The consultation, which was postponed from last month, has been organised on behalf of the Countryside Agency, which wants to revise the Countryside Code, and produce information regarding new access areas, including the Forest of Bowland.

Agency staff will gather information from members of the public, farmers and landowners and, in particular, children, about their perceptions of the countryside, and will visit towns and countryside areas throughout the UK.

Anyone who would like to get involved can go along to the council chambers, or ring the Volunteering Development Project at Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Council for Voluntary Service on 01200 422721.
